I created my first computer programs in the early 1980s. I am of the generation who learnt to code by copying listings from magazines, and I started off having to type them out each time as a data storage device cost extra!

I probably made my first website, over 25 years ago. I was ahead of the game at the time, getting sites top ranked on Google before the phrase search engine optimization was common parlance. I will not lead anyone on, such is a very different proposition these days.

I returned to software development after a long break, around 2017, at first motivated to write scripts to trawl a retailer's website for clearance bargains and email me any good news.

In recent years, with the patience I did not have as a younger man, I have got to grips with a plethora of front-end and server technologies.
